Bhostd understands that plans can change unexpectedly. Whether a host cancels a reservation or a guest experiences a disruption, our rebooking and refund process ensures timely and fair resolutions for both parties.
Rebooking When a Host Cancels
If a host cancels a confirmed reservation:
Guests are eligible for a 100% refund, OR
A free rebooking to a comparable or higher-value listing (based on availability)
Bhostd Support will contact the guest within 24 hours to assist with alternatives
Guests can also browse and rebook listings manually from their Your Trips page
Host Penalties:
Frequent or last-minute cancellations by a host may lead to reduced visibility, payout forfeiture, or account suspension.
Refund Eligibility for Guest Cancellations
Guests may receive a full or partial refund depending on:
The cancellation policy selected by the host (Flexible, Moderate, Strict, etc.)
The timing of the cancellation relative to check-in
Whether a Major Disruption Policy applies
Refund details will always be displayed in the guest’s Completed Transactions dashboard.
Partial Refunds for Quality Issues
If a stay or service is unsatisfactory, guests must:
First contact the host directly via the Inbox
If not resolved, submit a report within 48 hours of check-in or experience start time
Include documentation (e.g., photos, conversations, videos)
Refunds may be issued for:
Listings that don’t match their description
Missing or falsely advertised amenities
Unsafe, unsanitary, or inaccessible conditions
Host no-shows or last-minute experience cancellations
Refund Processing
Refunds are initiated within 24–48 hours of approval
Funds typically appear on the original payment method within 5–10 business days
Status can be monitored in Completed Transactions
Guest Rebooking Credit
In some cases, Bhostd may offer a rebooking credit instead of a direct refund. Credit can be applied toward:
Booking a new or upgraded listing
Extending a current or future reservation
Purchasing a future experience or service
Rebooking credit appears in your Bhostd wallet or at checkout automatically.
